:pokeball: GENERAL RULES :pokeball:

1. Treat all admins and members with respect.

This should be a given. This group is supposed to be fun and it was made for people who love Pokemon gijinka. We don't need any trouble. If we receive even one complaint you will be added to a list of offenders and be given ONE warning. If after that you continue to misbehave, depending on the severity of the situation, we have the right to either suspend you or ban you.

2. All art submitted must be YOUR art.

Any stolen, copied, edited, or traced works will be denied and reported. You will also be KICKED OUT with no first warning. We do not tolerate stolen or copied artwork. This also means you can not request to add artwork done by another deviant/member. If they wish to add their work to the gallery they will have to request so themselves.

3. Let the admins answer the questions.

We've had it happen before where someone did something wrong because another member said it was okay. Please, I know you're just trying to help, but let the admins answer questions that pop up in journals or on the group's profile. We will get to all questions, so please just be patient. Most everything should be answered in the various FAQs we have, so it's also a good idea to check those. If you can't find what you're looking for send us a note, or comment on the journal that is most realated to your question. And if another member who IS NOT an admin tells you something please double check with the admins first.

4. DO NOT harass admins on their personal accounts.

If you have questions DO NOT comment on the admins' profiles. DO NOT ask them questions about the group, send them links to art you want to be accepted, or anything that has to do with the group and not them. DO NOT ask questions about the group on any of there deviations unless stated otherwise in the deviation‘s description. NOTE THE GROUP! If it is a more personal message feel free to note a particular admin, but otherwise send all notes to the group. Your comments will be hidden and can be ignored. You can be kicked out if you break this rule repeatedly.

5. Do not join if you are not going to participate.

Obviously if you ask to join, you are interested in the group, and we're very grateful for that and flattered, but please do not join if you're not going to participate in group RPs and assignments. If you are interested in the group, but not interested in participating it would be best to just watch us.

6. NO GOD-MODDING!

God-modding is when you have the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries, such as being invulnerable, or killing/injuring other characters without the other member's permission. This also means RPing as characters that do not belong to you. If you are caught God-modding in the chatrooms or are reported for doing so you will be banned from the chatrooms for a predetermined period of time and if you continue to behave this way upon your return you will be kicked out of the group.
THIS INCLUDES CONTROLING THE ACADEMY! The academy is technically a creation of the founder, so you DO NOT control what happens there. You CAN NOT say activities happen at the academy. You CAN NOT say certain weather happens at the academy. This means if the admins don't say there is a snow storm THERE IS NO SNOW STORM. If the admins don't say there is a school dance THERE IS NO SCHOOL DANCE.
This also includes using your character’s attacks against the school. You may NOT flood any part of the school, set any part of the school on fire, do not cause an earthquake in any part of the school, etc.

:pokeball: GENERAL F.A.Q. :pokeball:

Q: What is the Pokemon Academy?
A: The group is inspired be a story by Maruaro. "Somewhere in an alternate universe is a Pokemon World where gijinka roam. And somewhere in that Pokemon World there is a prodigious boarding school where the gifted (in mind or in pocket) are sent to complete their secondary education.

That school is The Pokemon Academy."

Q: What is a gijinka?
A: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moe_anth…

Q: Who are the admins?
A: The group is run by Maruaro, with help from Lycorise, Pikamii, BambooBean, and Rikuloiid

Q: Can I join?
A: Anyone can join as long as you like Pokemon and gijinka. Remember though, you will 99% of the time be drawing humans. We do also have a requirement for basic anatomy and coloring/shading skills. Make sure you feel comfortable with that. This group is a DRAWING group. Although there might be times when writing something is required and we do accept written pieces, if you aren't comfortable with drawing then this isn't the group for you.

Q: How do I join?
A:

1.) Make sure you READ ALL THE RULES AND F.A.Q!

2.) Download and complete the application!

3.) Click the 'Join our Group' button on the front page.

4.) In the message send a link to your application.

5.) You will receive a message in your inbox. DO NOT DELETE IT. It will tell you if we deny or accept you into the group.

Q: What if I can't draw very well?
A: Like I said before this group's main focus is drawing and RPing through those drawings. We do also have a requirement for basic anatomy and coloring/shading skills.

Q: Can someone else draw my character's application and/or do assignments for me?
A: NO.

Q: A member posted something that was stolen/copied/edited/traced. What should I do?
A: Please note the group with a link to the piece that was stolen and a link to the piece where you think they got it from. We will remove it immediately and that member will be kicked out. Please make sure to also report the deviation after noting us.

Q: Can I suggest a favorite?
A: Yes, but we only accept artwork that is Pokemon (the creatures. not the anime and/or game in general) or Pokemon ginjika related.

Q: Can I affiliate with the group?
A: Yes. But please we only accept affiliation requests from other Pokemon related groups.

Q: I have a question that wasn't addressed here.
A: Please make sure to read ALL journals. Each journal has a FAQ especially for the subject it's about. If you are positive your question is not answered anywhere then please feel free to comment here or note the group.

:pokeball: CHARACTER RULES :pokeball:

● You're character MUST be a Pokemon gijinka.
This sounds like something I shouldn't have to say, but believe me it is. Pokemon Academy takes place in a reality where everyone is a Pokemon gijinka. They should look at least 80% human. There is no such thing as regular humans.

● A student's age may be no more than 18 and no less than 15.
We will make some exceptions for students who were held back, started early, started late, or an other situations that might affect their age, but not often.

● A student's level may be no more than 40 and no less than 10. A Teacher's level may be no more than 70 and and no less than 30.
For students:
10 - new to battling
11-20 - good at battling
21-30 - great at battling
31-40 - expert at battling

For Teachers:
30-40 - okay battling
41-50 - good at battling
51-60 - great at battling
61-70 - expert at battling

● Your character may only learn 4 moves.
Your character may only learn moves that it's Pokemon species can learn. This include TMs and HMs.

● You may use an existing character(s) as long as they are not part of any other group or already have a detailed back story.
Your character(s) can’t have two lives. If they have a backstory that will interfere with the PA plot then it wouldn't be possible for them to go there. Please try and make a new character that'll only be used for PA. OR you may have an AU version of an already existing character.

● Try to keep all characters appropriate.
No homicidal maniacs or extremely erotic characters. This is just a high school. We don’t need to have those types of students. If you try to submit anything like that it will be declined.

● This is an academy.
The academy is a private school that requires your character's family to pay for admission and requires your character to score high enough on the entrance exam to be accepted. So speaking in terms of the story line, your student must be fairly wealthy and intelligent. This does not, however, have to translate into their personality. If you want your character to have a dumb or clutzy personality that's fine.

● Your student MUST wear their UNIFORM during anything that involves them being in a school activity unless stated otherwise.
THIS IS AN ACADEMY. I understand that a lot of you are in high school. I understand that a lot of you don't have to wear uniforms. But this is a private school and there is a uniform. Most Pokemon have very unique designs that won't necesarrily be affected by a different outfit, so make sure it's not just the clothing that make you're character a gijinka.

● If for any reason you decide to remove your character, and replace them with another character you must note the group.
Each member is only allowed to change their characters ONCE. For example: You join the group with Pikachu, but want to remove Pikachu and replace him with Zubat. You CAN NOT replace Zubat after this is done. You may remove him, but you CAN NOT replace him with another Pokemon.

:pokeball: CHARACTER F.A.Q. :pokeball:

Q: How many characters am I allowed to make?
A: Each member may only make ONE character. You may also have characters that are members of the student's/Teacher's family, but they are not members of the academy and should not participate in any academy activities, and should not be RP'd as. They are NPCs (non playable characters)

Q: Can I make a Teacher or Staff member?
A: We are not accepting Teacher or Staff apps at the moment.

Q: I want to make twins! Can that count as only one character?
A: NO. Are twins only one person? NO. There are two of them. That would be two characters.

Q: What about Dodrio, Dugtrio, Exeggcute, Exeggutor, and all the other Pokemon with more than two heads?
A: Find a friend who also wants to join and see if they'll make twins or triplets with you. It IS NOT fair to let you have more than one character just because of your Pokemon's species. (I apologize that this means you can not make the character, but it wouldn't be fair.)

Q: Can I use an already evolved Pokemon?
A: YES.

Q: Can I use a Pokemon that has already been used?
A: YES. You may use a Pokemon that has already been used by someone else, BUT if a Pokemon is used too often we have the right to deny applications using that Pokemon.

Can I use MissingNO.?
A: NO. MissingNo. is technically NOT a Pokemon.

Q: Can I use a legendary Pokemon?
A: MAYBE. We only allow legendaries to members who have proven to be active and stick with the group. A legendary Pokemon may not be used again once it has been used once.

Q: Can my Pokemon be mixed with another Pokemon?
A: NO.

Q: Can my gijinka evolve?
A: NO. I'm sorry, but this is very troublesome for us to keep track of if we let people’s characters evolve.

Q: Can my gijinka be shiny?
A: YES.

Q: Can my ginjinka be a different colour besides the original/shiny colours?
A: YES, but no crazy markings. Just different basic colours, and only slightly switched from the original. We have the right to deny applications is the colors are too out of hand.

Q: Can my gijinka have wings/horns/any extra parts that that specific species does not already have?
A: NO. Stick to the design of the Pokemon you choose.

Q: Can my gijinka be male if that specific Pokemon species is only female? or Can my gijinka be female if that specific Pokemon species is only male?*
A: NO. If a Pokemon can only be one sex it can only be one sex.

Q: What if a Pokemon is genderless?
A: For the purposes of this group, please choose a sex for your character.

Q: Can I change my character's sex/age/species/etc. after I submitted the application?
A: Small things like their height, or weight, can be changed without asking. You do not need permission, but you MUST NOTE THE GROUP when changing their name or age. You MAY NOT, however, change their sex or species. This would technically count as replacing your character and could only be done once.

Q: I have a question that wasn't addressed here.
A: Please make sure to read ALL journals. Each journal has a FAQ especially for the subject it's about. If you are positive your question is not answered anywhere then please feel free to comment here or note the group.

:pokeball: ART SUBMISSION RULES :pokeball:

● Only members can submit work to the group.
If you would like to submit work to the group you must become a member and make a character. If you have fan art of characters in the group, but do not wish to participate, we will add it to the Favorites. Please send us a link to the picture in a note entitled 'Favorite'.

YOU drew it, submit it to YOUR character's house folder.
It doesn't matter who's in the picture, or even if your character is nowhere to be seen. It goes in your character's house folder.

● Submit your work to the correct folder!
Please make sure you are submitting your work to the correct folder. If you make a mistake WITHDRAW the request first. DO NOT just send another request to the correct folder. If it is submitted to the wrong folder it will be denied. We will NOT move it for you.

● DO NOT SUBMIT THE SAME PICTURE MORE THAN ONCE!
If your piece is not accepted right away BE PATIENT. When you submit a piece it must be approved by the admins before it ends up in the gallery. Because the admins can't all be online all the time, your submission can't always be approved right away. If we see that you submit the same request too many times we have the right to decline it even if there is nothing wrong with it. We will get to your submission when we get to it.

● Every member must complete an assignment or project by the deadline, when it is given.
coming soon...

● All art submitted must be YOUR art.

● To submit art you MUST have something academy related in the piece.
We will not accept pictures of Pokemon gijinka that aren't students, Teachers, or Staff members. There must be at least one student/Teacher/Staff member in the picture for it to be accepted into the group.

● When submitting art, in the deviation's description you MUST include a link to the applications of all the characters included in that piece of art and to your own character EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT IN THE PICTURE.
This does not mean credit the other members. Although I'm sure they want that and we do suggest you do that, this is not what this rules is about. You must include links to the characters' applications. For example: If Pikachu and Linoone are in the piece of art you submit you MUST include, in the deviation's description, a link to Pikachu's and Linoone's applications. Even if Pikachu belongs to you, you MUST include a link to his application. And even if NONE of the characters in the picture belong to you, you MUST include a link to your character's application. This is so we can make sure you are submitting your work to the correct folder. With a link to the app right there, we'll be able to click and check quickly and we won't have to go through your gallery to find your app and make sure. This speeds up the accepting time of the picture you submitted.

● Mature content must have a warning.
If the mature filter is not ON and your picture contains over PG-13 rated material we have the right to decline it. This includes language used. Remember if we find your picture to be too inappropriate, we have the right to decline it.

● If you would like to remove something from the group's gallery WITHOUT deleting
it from your personal gallery:

1. Go to the deviation you would like to remove from the group's gallery.
2. Click the Edit Deviation button on the right.
3. On the Submission page, next to the Submit to a Group category, click the red X next to the group name PokemonAcademy.

:pokeball: ART SUBMISSION F.A.Q. :pokeball:

Q: How many pieces of art can I submit?
A: You may submit THREE pieces per WEEK.

Q: Can I use a base?
A: NO.

Q: Why was my deviation declined?
A: There could have been a few different reasons:
● You submitted it to the wrong folder
● It had nothing to do with PA
● You didn't include links to all pictured character's application
● You didn't include links to YOUR character's application
● It contained mature content and did not have the filter ON
● It broke one or more group rules

Q: Why do I submit art to my character's house folder even if it's a picture of a character from a different house?
A: YOU drew it, submit it to YOUR character's house folder. This rule is in place in case we decide to implement a point system in the future. It may change, but for now just submit YOUR art to YOUR character's house folder.

Q: Why do I need to include a link to MY character's application if they aren't even in the picture?
A: Even if NONE of the characters in the picture belong to you, you MUST include a link to your character's application. This is so we can make sure you are submitting your work to the correct folder. With a link to the app right there, we'll be able to click and check quickly and we won't have to go through your gallery to find your app and make sure. This speeds up the accepting time of the picture you submitted.

Q: A member posted something that was stolen/copied/edited/traced. What should I do?
A: Please note the group with a link to the piece that was stolen and a link to the piece where you think they got it from. We will remove it immediately and that member will be kicked out. Please make sure to also report the deviation after noting us.

Q: How often are assignments?
A: Depending on the difficulty level, assignments can be up to one month apart. Average assignments will only last two weeks and will most likely consist of you drawing your characters involved in an academy activity.

Q: I have a question that wasn't addressed here.
A: Please make sure to read ALL journals. Each journal has a FAQ especially for the subject it's about. If you are positive your question is not answered anywhere then please feel free to comment here or note the group.

Question for future reference(if you guys open for apps again):

Say I want to make a Lampent character. The student level cap is 40, but Litwick only evolves on 41, I'm not allowed to make a Lampent then?

Hi, just wondering what are the requirements for basic anatomy and coloring/shading skills, i mean like how good do they have to be?

Basic anatomy = proportions and drawing your character with a rib cage
Color/shading = Pretty basic lighting knowledge for shading. Nothing fancy.

Overall scoring = Middle beginner/Lower intermediate?
